Join us for a Campus Trees Network Mixer and Discussion Session. Members of CCUEN, regional sustainability and facilities networks, and the NECSC are invited. But of course it is a virtual event so others who are interested are welcome!
Purpose: To connect with our friends again and to promote benefits of trees on campus and discuss supportive programs and policies such as the development of a new national campus tree planting, care and preservation program.
Learning Outcomes:
- Increased awareness of evidence regarding the benefits of trees on campus
- Increased awareness of supportive policies and programs for enhancing tree biodiversity and health
- Knowledge exchange regarding a pilot for the proposed Canadian Campus Tree Program: Plant. Care. Preserve.

Workshop
Planet Earth needs more trees. What can universities and colleges do to help plant more? Help workshop a proposed plan for a September pilot for the “Canadian Campus Tree Program: Plant. Care. Preserve” (with possible partnerships with municipalities, and development of an Urban Forestry Campus Plan) – Presentation of the concept; discussion groups on key questions; summary of findings.
